SARAH HARTWIG

SARAH HARTWIG

Puppy Coach

Since 1998, Sarah has been employed part-time as a class instructor for various kennel clubs, dog training businesses and humane societies in WI and NE. In 2006 Sarah was able to combine her clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist with her dog training passion. Her role as Executive Director for WAGS, Inc. a nonprofit agency training service dogs in WI, eventually led to Sarah founding her own dog training business, The Profound Hound, in Oklahoma City.

Sarah and her Rhodesian Ridgebacks have achieved titles in conformation, agility, rally, obedience, lure coursing, tracking, canine good citizen, and tricks, with national rankings and honors along the way. With a limited breeding program, she has produced over 15 owner-handled Champions, several Dual Champions and Grand Champions.

An extensive amount of fostering rescue dogs has given Sarah significant insight into rehabbing bad canine habits. In addition, it also taught her how to positively and effectively communicate strategies and training methods to the adopters of those dogs to ensure successful placements.

Sarah’s greatest happiness is seeing that “ah-huh” moment between a Hound and their Human.
