She has been named Woman Veterinarian of the Year and her books have received accolades from the Dog Writers Association of America. Through her efforts, the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation was recently established as the newest specialty in veterinary medicine.
In addition to her veterinary expertise, Chris has put over 100 titles in Agility, Obedience, Conformation, Tracking, Hunt Tests, Barn Hunt, Nosework, Coursing, and Rally on dogs from the Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier and Herding groups.
Sarah and her Rhodesian Ridgebacks have achieved titles in conformation, agility, rally, obedience, lure coursing, tracking, canine good citizen, and tricks, with national rankings and honors along the way. With a limited breeding program, she has produced over 15 owner-handled Champions, several Dual Champions and Grand Champions.
An extensive amount of fostering rescue dogs has given Sarah significant insight into rehabbing bad canine habits. In addition, it also taught her how to positively and effectively communicate strategies and training methods to the adopters of those dogs to ensure successful placements.
Sarah’s greatest happiness is seeing that “ah-huh” moment between a Hound and their Human.
