Avidog is a dream that is born of our passion for puppies.
We are very excited about the way we have been received and wanted to share some of the things people are saying about their Avidog experience.
“I really appreciated the care the Avidog team took in explaining my puppy’s behavior!”
“I really appreciated the care the Avidog team took in explaining my puppy’s behavior. This course is broken into a series of steps explaining and implementing corrective behaviors around house training a new puppy. The course also includes group conversations and promotes sharing of ideas from other participants. It was helpful to hear other owner’s problems and how the instructors guided them. The Avidog team also developed tools that I found useful in directing and training my puppy. Their encouragement and accessibility throughout the course allowed me to feel consistent in my approach, which ultimately led me to success in house training my puppy. My puppy now asks to go out, is restricted to a small area of the yard and has not had any accidents since completion of the course. We are very satisfied and grateful to Avidog for all their help!”

“I have never been more impressed or more satisfied with any other seminar ever!”
I have never been more impressed or more satisfied with any other seminar ever! The content was great, it was very well presented and never lost focus. Gayle answered questions honestly and openly. She was so well prepared with both slides and video that she held my attention throughout.
I will recommend Avidog’s seminars to many people.

“Dogs learn faster, [and] have greater strength and coordination”
There is strong scientific evidence that the kind of stimulation that puppies get when they are raised the Avidog way pays dividends throughout a dog’s life. In my experience, these dogs learn faster, have greater strength and coordination, and are unfazed by new and unusual experiences.

“[Gayle’s] seminar will teach even the most experienced breeders something new”
Gayle Watkins is a first-class presenter who is able to explain complex topics in a straight-forward manner while still being very entertaining. Her methodology on puppy testing is revolutionary and will change the way we place our puppies. Her method of testing is not only easy to implement, but it is intuitive and repeatable. Her seminar will teach even the most experienced breeders something new.

“Valuable asset to ANY new puppy owner!”
Having always had adopted older/”trained” dogs, we found ourselves looking to the help of our breeder and the Avidog team for some Potty Training “pointers.” The training course Gayle, Marcy and Lise have devised is such a valuable asset to ANY new puppy owner!! Each week, the call-in and “homework” were the absolute KEY to training our new Weimaraner pup. She came to us at eight weeks and potty-box trained.
Through the course, we seamlessly transitioned to a crate, ex-pen and schedule. Over the course of a few weeks, we also found that hearing on the calls what others were going through and trying was helpful. A give and take! The ladies at Avidog truly know and love dogs and WANT the pups and their owners to succeed!
Having a year’s worth of available support call-in times is reassuring in case we have a setback. Going on 7 months old, CeCe has been able to sleep through the night and we have had minimal adjustments to make. The course is also quite easy to follow and could also benefit someone adopting an older dog that needs house-training or a “refresher”.
Following the Avidog plan and advice throughout the course is well worth the investment!

“I highly recommend that dog clubs bring Gayle and Avidog to their members”
Working with Gayle and the entire Avidog team on the Transformational Puppy Rearing and Evaluation seminars was an absolute pleasure. She is easy to deal with and goes above and beyond to deliver on all she promises. Both Avidog and the presentation exceeded our expectations on so many levels.
Although the seminar was hosted under the banner of the Ottawa Valley Golden Retriever Club, we had significant representation from all breed groups – sporting, working, herding, terrier, and even toy breeds as well as a range of backgrounds – performance only attendees, new breeders and breeders with 30+ years of experience under their belt. Despite that diversity, Gayle captured the attention and participation of everyone in the audience. She delivers a unique set of tools and knowledge that every participant can easily utilize to be more effective in their breeding programs or selection of their new puppy.
Gayle is a world-class presenter, facilitator and coach with an endless well of knowledge and wisdom to impart. She models everything she teaches and her delivery is often humorous and always relevant. She is also one of the most caring and supportive people I know and that clearly came across both during the workshop and in the generosity she showed to people in the one-on-one conversations she held with individuals during breaks and after the event.
It has often been said that the average presenter informs, the good presenter persuades and the great presenter inspires. Gayle definitely belongs in the latter category. I have never been to a workshop where so many people had such profound shifts in thinking and such enormous learning, regardless of background, experience, interest or breed. When participants left the workshop, they were motivated, inspired, and excited! There is no doubt that Gayle and Avidog has had a transformational effect on the greater Ottawa dog community.
I highly recommend that dog clubs bring Gayle and Avidog to their members. Thank you Gayle and Avidog for allowing us all to learn and discover the art of the science of puppy rearing and evaluation. We sincerely hope that you will come back.

“I recommend that all new puppy owners sign up!”
It had been quite sometime since there was a puppy in our house, 12 years to be exact and so the thought of potty training our puppy was making me a bit nervous. Our breeder recommended that we sign up for Avidog’s potty training course. I didn’t know what to expect and was very surprised at the support that was given to me and to the other new puppy owners as well.
I looked forward to our weekly calls because I not only had my own questions, I was curious to hear what everyone else was experiencing with their new puppy. Just having the support from the Avidog team and knowing they were there with answers to my questions was amazing. Any question that was asked, was answered! The Avidog team was wonderful and extremely helpful. I recommend that all new puppy owners sign up!

“Informative and engaging”
Gayle’s presentation is informative and engaging. The illustrative materials she employs are clear and interesting, and there was an effective integration of hands-on and minds-on activities into the weekend.
The blend of research and experience that is the underpinning of her presentation gave me much to think about in the planning of my own breeding program, as well as the rearing and placement of my puppies. At the end of two full days, I was still ready to hear more!

It was a super seminar and Gayle was a great speaker. I truly enjoyed everything about it. It was so informative on puppy testing !!!
“Highly recommend this or any course at Avidog”
I enrolled in the Puppy Potty Solution training class recently with Lise and her team at Avidog International. It was great to have the convenience of dialing in to the weekly conference calls from any location I was in at the moment. The flexibility had minimal impact on my family’s schedule.
Since I am a visual learner I read and learned a lot from the printed materials and webinar that’s included in the course. The group format with the lesson, followed by the Q&A calls validated I wasn’t the only one going through these issues and helped me bounce ideas off the group.
In the end I learned how to properly train my dog, give her more freedom and help her gain some consistency when she needs to relieve herself. I would highly recommend this or any course at Avidog.

“Left me wanting more”
“Transformational Puppy Rearing” was incredible. Gayle’s intelligence, passion, and commitment, along with her dynamic delivery and wonderful sense of humor, made the two information-packed days fly by and left me wanting more. The visual aids and group exercises were extremely helpful, and the breadth of material covered was nothing short of awe-inspiring. An empowering educational seminar that I would recommend to anyone even considering breeding and to puppy buyers looking to educate themselves on just how much influence those early weeks can have on their dogs.

“Passionate about breeding”
Thank you Pam for inviting Gayle and organizing this wonderful seminar.
I love the way Gayle is so passionate about her breeding, she wants to share her passion and always in absolute respect of other breeders. I would go back to hear her without question, she has so much to offer, so much passion. I loved it!

“Positive, balanced, consistent approach to raising confident dogs”
We got our last puppy, Jake, in 2001 and although we loved him, we admit he was a terror for the first two years. In 2013 when Carmel came into our lives we knew that recently becoming grandparents we had to do things much differently with this puppy so our grandchildren and our dog could co-exist happily and safely together.
Serendipitously, we happened upon Avidog. Using twice-weekly phone calls and video consults for 16 weeks, our trainer Marcy, helped TRAIN US how to turn Carmel into a pet companion anyone can be around and interact with.
From potty training to mundane questions about diet and exercise, Marcy gently and persuasively moved us from a total lack of confidence about training to one of mastery over Carmel’s natural puppy exuberance and energy. Every question that we had or situation that came up was addressed promptly and thoroughly, even to the point of Marcy calling a few extra times to make sure we both understood what we were doing.
Especially helpful were the audio recordings of our training discussions, so we could go back to review them – and believe me we did! The use of video was extremely helpful so we could see, first hand, what we and Carmel were expected to do. Being able to send our videos for feedback of what we were doing correctly (or in so many cases incorrectly) was invaluable. Never once did Marcy make us feel like we were not up to the task. On the contrary, even though we would repeat mistakes or simply get a concept wrong, Marcy would find a new and different way to explain things – always making us feel like we were stars.
In the end we have a wonderful dog thanks in a large part to Avidog. Their positive, balanced, consistent approach to raising confident dogs is just what we were looking for. Having training available on our schedule through phone calls and video was simply brilliant!
